Art+Feminism is a campaign improving coverage of cis and transgender women, feminism and the arts on Wikipedia. It is a do-it-yourself and do-it-with-others campaign teaching people of all gender identities and expressions to edit Wikipedia. Art+Feminism’s Edit-a-thons and other initiatives make an impact on the gender gap through crucial improvements to gender, feminism and art related subjects on Wikipedia. Since 2014, Art+Feminism edit-a-thons have taken place across the world, creating and improving over 11,000 articles.

Join us at the Ulster Museum, Belfast BT9 5AB, on Thursday 11 April from 10am to 3pm for an all day communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to gender, art and feminism.

We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and refreshments. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creating.

If you can’t make it to the whole day there will be a tutorial at 10:00 And then again at 13:00.

Please contact anna.liesching@nmni.com  if you have any questions about how you can contribute. Entries can be as simple as linking women artists to important movements or schools, or making sure their biographical information is correct.
