Ireland’s first year of the photography/image competition took place during November 2017, and we had 80 entries over our 6 categories.
The six winning images for each categories are:
- General category – Raining Red Blood Cells by Karen Slattery
- Image sets – Warhol’s Neuron by Enricobagnoli
- Microscopy images – Germanium Telluride nanowires by Fionán
- Non-photographic media – Lightening 1 by Dwmalone
- People in Science – The fire within her by Scohen2017
- Women in STEM – Everyday I’m culturing by Zcsharp
We exhibited these images a SCI:COM conference in Ballsbridge, 7 December 2017.
Editing events in TOG Hackerspace

Academia and Wikipedia: Critical Perspectives in Education and Research
This conference will be taking place in Maynooth, 18 June 2018. The call for papers is currently open, and will close on 28 February 2018. All of the details can be found here.
International Digital Preservation Day
As part of our ongoing partnership with Digital Repository Ireland, we held an event with the Library at Trinity College Dublin to mark International Digital Preservation Day on 30 November. It was a fascinating day of editing, with a pop up museum of computers organised by the Library. The international hashtag was #idpd17.
