If you are interested in helping to organise, promote or otherwise get involved in the competition, do get in touch!

If you are attending this year’s Octocon, or are interested in Science Fiction and Fantasy, a number of Wikipedians are hosting an editing workshop at this year’s convention: So You Want to Be a Wiki Editor on Saturday 20 from 4-6pm. Wiki Loves Monuments 2018

Wiki Loves Monuments in Ireland saw 126 participants upload 1060 images! Our judges are busy working away, and we will be announcing the 10 winning images in early November.

Editing events in TOG Hackerspace

We will be continuing our monthly editing events in TOG Hackerspace with a special Hallowe’en themed night on Wednesday 31 September from 7-9pm. Whether you are new to Wikipedia or an old hand at editing, come along for a chat with fellow Wikimedians, who can even suggest an extra spooky article to edit! All you need is a laptop, WiFi, pizza and Hallowe’en treats will be provided!

To get a reminder about this and other upcoming event sign up on the TOG Meetup page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

Getting Involved!

Is there an event you think Wikimedia Community Ireland should get involved in, or should look at organising? Do you have idea for an event or campaign you’d like to work on with us? Or have any other good ideas, then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
