Wikipedia and Vicipéid birthday celebrations at TOG

As well as our usual editing event in TOG Hackerspace on Wednesday 30 January, we will also mark two big milestones with cake! January 2019 marks the 18th birthday of Wikipedia and the 15th birthday of Vicipéid. Whether you are new to Wikipedia or an old hand at editing, come along for a chat with fellow Wikimedians while we celebrate. All you need is a laptop – WiFi, cake and pizza will be provided!

To get a reminder about this and other upcoming event sign up on the TOG Meetup page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

Art+Feminism

March will see the return of the global editing phenomena – Art+Feminism. If you are interested in either hosting or helping to organise one of these events to celebrate all women artists, cis and transgender women, non-binary folks, and feminism, do get in touch. We want to make sure that Ireland is playing its part in this movement.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Seachtain na Gaeilge takes place this year from 1-17 March, and we want to help support anyone who wants to hold a Vicipéid editing event. If you or your institution want to partner on an editing or other translation or Wikimedia event, let us know.

We are currently writing our grant application for the coming year of April 2019 to March 2020. If you have thoughts or suggestions on what we should be focusing on in this coming year, we’d love to hear from you.

Please do get in touch if you want to get involved, we really want to hear from you.
