Wiki Loves Earth

We are very excited to announce that the photography competition, Wiki Loves Earth, will return to Ireland in June 2021! This year the competition will cover the entire island of Ireland, and you can check out the lists by province here: Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connacht. The competition opens 1 June and runs all month, so get your photographs ready and let the whole world see Ireland’s unique and beautiful protected landscapes, flora and fauna. Find all the details here.

Virtual events

We have moved our monthly editing events in TOG Hackerspace online to Discord, so join us on Wednesday 26 May from 7-9pm. You can learn about Wikipedia, as well as Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata and all the other sister projects. RSVP on Meetup to get the link to the TOG Discord server.

To get a reminder about this and other upcoming events sign up on the TOG Meetup page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

Want to get involved over the summer?

If you, your group, or organisation want to run a virtual Wikimedia workshop, we can provide a Zoom space in which we can hold an editing or other workshop for you and your colleagues. Get in touch at wikimediaireland[at]gmail.com

Twitch Wikipedia editing at lunchtime

Rebecca is continuing her twice weekly Twitch Wikipedia editing live stream every Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime, exploring the wider world of Wikipedia. As always, if you have anything you’d like covered during the streams, or have any questions or queries, let her know!
