Calling all photographers, nature enthusiasts, and lovers of Ireland!

Wikimedia Community Ireland is thrilled to announce Wiki Loves Earth 2024, the international competition dedicated to our stunning natural heritage will open on June 1st! The competition covers the whole island of Ireland in collaboration with Wikimedia UK.

Do you have a captivating photo of a rugged coastline, a mystical mountain peak, or a tranquil lake reflecting the Irish sky?  We want to see it! The competition calls on participants to take pictures of protected areas of natural beauty, such as National Parks, Nature Reserves, Ramsar Sites, and Special Areas of Conservation.

Wiki Loves Earth is taking place in Ireland for the 5th time! The contest aims to highlight the natural heritage across the island of Ireland to encourage people to capture pictures and to upload them under a free licence which means they can then be re-used not only in Wikipedia but everywhere by everyone.

What Can You Photograph?/ Eligible Sites

You can find lists of eligible sites in Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connacht as well as more details on the Northern Ireland page.

Think Breathtaking coastlines and beaches, majestic mountains, lush forests, lakes and rivers and flora and fauna.
