The next Wikimedia Community Ireland monthly online meet-up will be happening slightly earlier this month on October 21st.
We are delighted to invite new and existing community members or anyone interested in getting involved in our work to join us for our online Community meeting on Tuesday, October 21st, at 6 pm.

Have your Say on WCI’s Course of Action for the 2025 Board Election
As you may be aware, there has been much discussion surrounding the Board’s decision to remove certain candidates from the ballot for the upcoming election. Within the global community, there is currently a movement towards boycotting the vote.
Your opinions on this are important, and we will vote on this as a group to decide the best course of action for Wikimedia Community Ireland to take. You can find a summary of events along with links to further information on WCI’s meta page here (please scroll to the end).
So far, we have discerned the following options:
- We abstain from voting in this election
- We vote, with an accompanying comment that raises our concerns and alignment with the misgivings raised by the boycott
- We vote as normal
We will be discussing and voting on this matter at our next meeting.
I understand that not everyone can make the community meeting, so in this case, I urge you to reach out to me via email (sophiefitzpatrick@wikimedia.ie) with your opinion and vote on the course of action (abstain, vote with comment or vote) you think we should take for the election on October 22nd.

We will be voting on our New Child Protection Policy
Community is at the heart of everything we do.
Have your say in how our community operates and help us improve our child protection policy at October’s meeting. You can familiarise yourself with the draft here and come along with any feedback or questions. Then, as a community, we will vote it into place.
